Moscow court extends detention of Anastasia Vashukevich for 72 hours

The court hearing on a measure of restriction was postponed for January 22

MOSCOW, January 19. /TASS/. Moscow’s Nagatinsky court has extended for 72 hours the custody of Anastasia Vashukevich, who was detained at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport on Thursday on suspicion of enticement into prostitution, a TASS correspondent reported from court hall.

"Suspect Vashukevich shall be detained for 72 hours," Judge Natalia Borisenko read out the court ruling. She added the court hearing on a measure of restriction was postponed for January 22.

Earlier reports said that three Russian citizens, who had arrived from Thailand, were detained at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport on January 17 on charges of inducement into prostitution. Among them were Belarusian citizen Anastasia Vashukevich and Aleksandr Kirillov.

In February 2018, ten foreigners, mostly from Russia and Belarus, were detained in the Thai resort town of Pattaya for organizing a sex training seminar. Kirillov, known also as Alex Lesly, and Vashukevich, who goes by Nastya Rybka on social networks, were among organizers of the seminar for over 40 Russian tourists. They were also accused of working illegally in Thailand. In April 2018, Pattaya’s court acquitted seven suspects of illegal work in Thailand, as their guilt had not been proven.

Nonetheless, they remained behind bars on the other charge. On January 15, at the beginning of the trial they pleaded guilty to organizing a sex training session. Thailand’s court sentenced them to 18 months in jail but ruled to serve the remaining part of their sentences on parole.

Afterwards, they were accommodated at a reception center in Bangkok to wait for deportation to Russia and Belarus.
