No traces of explosives found at apartment block collapse scene in Magnitogorsk

According to Russian Investigative Committee Spokesperson Svetlana Petrenko, all versions of the tragedy are being taken into account

MOSCOW, January 4. /TASS/. Investigators have finished examining the rubble at the scene of the collapsed apartment building in Magnitogorsk and found no traces of explosives, all versions of the tragedy are being taken into account, Russian Investigative Committee Spokesperson Svetlana Petrenko informed TASS.

"The Committee’s investigators and experts have completed the examination of the parts of the rubble taken from the apartment block collapse scene. No traces of explosives or their components were found on these fragments," she said.

According to Petrenko, all versions of the tragedy are being taken into account. "The investigators continue working on all versions of the explosion," she added.

A section of a ten-story apartment block collapsed in Magnitogorsk on December 31. Eighteen people were rescued a few hours after the tragedy. Six others, including two children, were found by Emergencies Ministry rescuers who were clearing the rubble. The search and rescue operation lasted four days. On January 3, the Russian Emergencies Ministry said it was over.
