Ten-month old child rescued from rubble alive in Russia’s Magnitogorsk

According to medical sources, the child is in critical condition

MAGNITOGORSK /Chelyabinsk Region/, January 1. /TASS/. Rescue workers have rescued a ten-month old child from the rubble at the site of an apartment building collapse in the Russian city of Magnitogorsk, a source in the operating headquarters told TASS on Tuesday.

The source added that the child had been taken to hospital. According to medical sources, the child is in critical condition.

A section of a ten-storey apartment block collapsed in Magnitogorsk on December 31. According to official information, the accident killed seven and left five injured. The eighth body was found but has not been pulled out yet. More than 30 people are still unaccounted for. The Russian Investigative Committee views a household gas explosion as the main cause of the accident.
