Person trapped in Khabarovsk Region mine rescued from debris

The Emergencies Ministry’s regional directorate earlier reported that a total of 10 people were trapped

KHABAROVSK, December 29. /TASS/. An employee of the Mnogovershinnoye gold-mining company who was trapped under the snow in an adit near the community of Mnogovershinny, Khabarovsk Region, was successfully recovered from the debris, the press service of the Russian Emergencies Ministry’s Main Directorate for the Khabarovsk Region reported.

The Emergencies Ministry’s regional directorate earlier reported that a total of 10 people were trapped following an avalanche collapse near the community of Mnogovershinny. Nine of them were found: one person was found deceased and one more succumbed to the injuries in the gold-mining company’s first aid station later. Search operations for one person continue.

One more person was trapped inside the adit. "The man who was blocked in the makeshift barrack by snow has been taken outside; he is alive," the report says.

It was earlier reported that three avalanches collapsed near the community: one snowed in the compressor station of the gold-mining company, the second one trapped the rescuer group that was sent to help the station’s employee, and the third avalanche blocked approaches to the people.
