The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center has issued a tsunami alert for the Philippines after the earthquake

MOSCOW, December 29. /TASS/. /TASS/. An earthquake of 7.2 magnitude has struck the island of Mindanao in the southern Philippines on Saturday, US Geological Survey reported.

According to US Geological Survey, the earthquake's epicenter lay in 196 km to the south-east of Davao City at the depth of 49 km. No casualties or damages have been reported yet.

Reuters reported a tsunami alert, citing the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.
