Eight people die in residential house fire in Siberia, criminal case opened

According to the local department of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, the fire report was recieved at 12:20am Moscow time, and the fire was extinguished at 1:19am Moscow time

 

KEMEROVO, November 6. /TASS/. Investigators have opened a criminal case over the death of 8 people in the residential house fire in the town of Yugra in Russia's southwestern Siberian Kemerovo Region, the press service of the local branch of the Russian Investigative Committee told TASS on Tuesday.

"Eight people died, a criminal case was opened over Part 3 Article 109 'Inflicting death by negligence'," the press service said.

It was earlier reported that seven people died in the fire, including five children. Two more people - one adult and one child - were hospitalized. A source in the emergencies services told TASS that one of the hospitalized people died.

According to the local department of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, the fire report was recieved at 12:20am Moscow time, and the fire was extinguished at 1:19am Moscow time. Nineteen people and five units of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire.
