Three staff members of the FSB department were wounded in the explosion

ARKHANGELSK, October 31. /TASS/. Two staff members of the Arkhangelsk regional department of Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) have suffered contusions and one more received severe injuries in an explosion that rocked the FSB office in the Russian northern city on Wednesday, Arkhangelsk Governor Igor Orlov told reporters on Wednesday.

"You might know that three people are in hospital. One staff member is in critical condition and the doctors are doing everything possible to save that man’s life and health," Orlov said. "Two more people are shell-shocked and now are undergoing rehabilitation," he added without elaborating on the injured people’s condition.

About the emergency

The Russian Investigative Committee’s central body was tasked to investigate the explosion in the Arkhangelsk FSB office. The Investigative Committee’s head, Alexander Bastrykin, issued orders to establish the causes of the crime and all circumstances behind it. According to the Investigative Committee’s preliminary information, a 17-year-old local man brought an improvised bomb into the building and detonated it. The teenager, who died in the explosion, was later identified.

Three staff members of the FSB department were wounded in the explosion. A criminal investigation was launched in line with the Russian Criminal Code’s articles (act of terrorism and illegal possession of ammunition).
