Reuters: number of people killed by powerful earthquake in Indonesia reached 82

The epicenter of the tremors was 49 km to the north-east of the city of Mataram

TASS, August 6. The number of people killed in a powerful earthquake that shook the Indonesian island of Lombok on Sunday, rose to 82, thousands of people were evacuated, Reuters reported, citing local authorities.

Earlier, the DPA agency reported referring to the Disaster Mitigation Agency of the country that 39 people were killed as a result of the earthquake.

According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center, a 6.6 magnitude earthquake occurred on the Lombok Island. The epicenter of the tremors was 49 km to the north-east of the city of Mataram (319,000 inhabitants). The seismic center was 10 km deep.
