Venezuelan president says some of perpetrators of his attempted murder already detained

There is "great progress" in the investigation, Maduro said

TASS, August 5. Several perpetrators of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro’s attempted murder have already been detained, the head of state said in a televised national address broadcasted by the TV channel Telesur.

"Some of the perpetrators of the attempted murder have been detained already," Maduro said, but did not provide any details. There is "great progress" in the investigation already, he said.

Maduro believes that some of the perpetrators of his attempted murders live in the US. "Some of those who planned an attempt on me live in the US," Venesuelan president told.

Venezuelan Communications Minister Jorge Rodriguez earlier said that Maduro’s attempted murder was committed with the use of several drones with explosives. They were activated while the head of state was delivering his speech at the ceremony for the 81st anniversary of the establishment of the Bolivarian National Guard. Rodriguez specified that seven law enforcement officers were injured and the drones were eliminated. Neither the state leader, not the top government officials were injured in the explosion, he said.
