Pilot of Mi-8 that crashed in Russia’s East Siberia tried to avoid collision - source

As reported earlier a Mi-8AMT helicopter belonging to UTair - Helicopter Services crashed at 5:43 am Moscow time in the Vankor landing ground area

MOSCOW, August 4. /TASS/. The pilot of Mi-8 helicopter that crashed in Russia’s Krasnoyarsk region in East Siberia, tried to avoid collision with the other copter, a source in emergencies services told TASS on Saturday.

"Mi-8 pilot was trying to avoid collision with the other helicopter’s load," he said.

As reported earlier a Mi-8AMT helicopter belonging to UTair - Helicopter Services crashed at 5:43 am Moscow time in the Vankor landing ground area. "According to available information, after takeoff the main rotor blade collided with the load of another copter that took off earlier," the Interstate Aviation Committee said.

The crash killed all 15 passengers and three crew members onboard. The second helicopter made an emergency landing, none of crew members onboard got hurt.
