Construction of Akkuyu NPP to help develop Russian economy — Rosatom

The total cost of constructing the Akkuyu nuclear power plant is $20 bln

MOSCOW, April 3. /TASS/. Construction of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant (NPP) in Turkey will ensure serious development of the Russian economy and tens of thousands of jobs for Russians, according to General Director of Rusatom Energy International (part of Rosatom) Anastasia Zoteeva.

"These are orders for trillions of rubles, in the first place, of course, for our machine builders, for all sideline productions, for metallurgical production. Of course, huge orders for our company. W ewill be provided with these orders for almost a hundred years ahead and this the most serious development of the Russian economy and tens of thousands of jobs for Russians," she said in an interview with Channel One.

The total cost of constructing the nuclear power plant is $20 bln. The project is 100% financed by the Russian side and, according to the signed intergovernmental agreement, at least 51% of its shares should belong to Russian companies.
