MOSCOW, December 5. /TASS/. Businessman Telman Ismailov has been charged in absentia with masterminding the murder of two entrepreneurs last year, Russian Investigative Committee’s Spokeswoman Svetlana Petrenko told TASS on Tuesday.

"According to investigators, Telman Ismailov organized the murder of two businessmen Vladimir Savkin and Yuri Brylev committed last year," Petrenko said.

Ismailov, who holds Russian-Turkish citizenship and formerly owned Moscow’s notorious Cherkizovsky market, has been also charged with arms trafficking.

The investigators have sent information for putting Ismailov on Interpol’s wanted list.

According to the Investigative Committee, Ismailov had plotted the murder together with his brothers Rafik and Vagif Ismailov, while Mekhman Kerimov was the perpetrator.

On May 15, 2016, Kerimov shot the businessmen to death from his car on Novorizhskoye Highway in western Moscow. Rafik Ismailov later helped Kerimov to flee the scene and go into hiding.

Rafik Ismailov and Mekhman Kerimov were arrested, and Telman and Vagif Ismailov have been remanded in custody in absentia.
