ABU DHABI, November 26. /TASS/. Russia is offering the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to use Russian Glonass navigation technologies, the press service of the Russian ministry of industry and trade said on Sunday after Minister Denis Manturov’s talks with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
"The crown prince agreed to think about the offer from the Navigation and Information Systems cellular operator on cooperation in the sphere of the use of Russian Glonass satellite navigation technologies in the interests of the UAE’s socio-economic development," the press service said.
Manturov invited the UAE to take part in the annual industrial exhibition Innoprom next summer. The exhibition will be dedicated to digital production.
After his visit to the UAE, Manturov told journalists the Russia side offered the UAE its river and sea-going ships that could be used to create transport corridors between the emirates’ islands. "We are interested in organizing production of ships of that type directly in the emirates," he said, adding that other cooperation areas could include prospecting and production oil and gas platforms.
Apart from that, the Russian minister said cooperation ties should be maintained with other Gulf countries and did not rule out business missions to such countries as Qatar.
