Russia’s 60% of gas to be produced at yet unopened fields by 2035 — experts

With the Arctic shelf Russia will compensate for lower production in traditional hydrocarbon provinces, Gazprom Neft’s deputy director general said

ST. PETERSBURG, September 12. /TASS/. As much as 60% of oil and gas production by 2035 will shift from the current oil and gas provinces to the deposits, which are not on the map as yet, Gazprom Neft’s Deputy Director General Andrei Patrushev told an international conference and show on oil and gas development in the Arctic and its continental shelf.

"Noteworthy, some experts say that in 2035 about 60% of planned production of oil and gas will be extracted at the fields, which are not on the maps as yet," he said, referring to experts.

With the Arctic shelf, he continued, Russia will compensate for lower production in traditional hydrocarbon provinces. One of the most promising directions is development of the shelf of Barents and Kara Seas, he added.
