World’s northernmost city Norilsk gets development agency

The agency will focus on the projects aimed at improving infrastructure, creating comfortable conditions for businessmen and developing tourist facilities

KRASNOYARSK, May 19. /TASS/. An agency for the development of Norilsk, the world’s northernmost city, set up by the local administration, Norilsk Nickel company and Vladimir Potanin’s charity fund, has begun its work.

"Norilsk Nickel CEO Vladimir Potanin heads the supervisory council of the new structure," the company’s press service said.
"The company’s employees make Norilsk Nickel unique. The company wants life in Norilsk to be not only comfortable but also modern and interesting. This is possible to achieve if active residents, authorities and Norilsk Nickel unite efforts for the sake of the city’s development," the press service said.
The agency will focus on the projects aimed at improving the urban environment and infrastructure, creating comfortable conditions for businessmen, helping the employment of local residents and developing tourist facilities.
