Auchan to invest more in Russian business in 2017

MOSCOW, April 5. /TASS/. French retail company Auchan is going to invest more than 20 bln rubles ($356.29 mln) in projects in Russia in 2017, General Director of Auchan Russian division Oleg Alkhamov told reporters on the sidelines of the conference on the Russian retail market.

"The company's investments will amount to more than 20 bln rubles ($356.29 mln) in all segments," Alkhamov said.

He also talked about the company's plans for 2017 to open new hypermarkets. "In 2017 Auchan plans to open 4 hypermarkets and more than 20 supermarkets," Alkhamov said.

Auchan opened its first store in Russia in 2002. At the end of 2015, the retailer managed 92 stores, including 58 classic hypermarkets, 27 Auchan City format hypermarkets and 7 Nasha Raduga hypermarkets.
