Russian stock market has great potential for growth — Putin

MOSCOW, April 5. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin sent his greetings to the participants, organizers and guests of the Exchange Forum and congratulated the Moscow Stock Exchange on its 25th anniversary.

The text of the greeting telegram has been published on the Kremlin’s official website.

"The Russian stock market has a great potential for growth, we have the required infrastructure, we are improving the regulatory framework for attracting capital by placing shares and bonds. It is important not to stop at what has been achieved, to increase the competitiveness and attractiveness of the national financial market. Its capacities should fully meet requirements of business and task of the country’s development," the statement says.

The Russian leader noted that the Exchange Forum is rightly considered a significant event in the life of the domestic business community. Putin reminded that annually this forum gathers representatives of banking circles and broker companies, Russian and international investment funds, heads of business agencies and public authorities, industry experts and analysts.

"Such a lively, multifaceted dialogue is extremely useful for developing approaches to solving urgent financial and economic issues and the main of them are development of the Russian securities market, its links with the global financial system, creation of a comfortable investment climate in our country," the President added.

Putin wished success to the participants of the forum and expressed confidence that the event will be held in a businesslike, constructive manner. He expressed hope that the forum's recommendations will be in demand in real economic situation.

The 8th Exchange Forum is held in Moscow from April 5 till April 7.
