Pole of Peace and Friendship expedition to begin in April — TV anchor

MOSCOW, April 4. /TASS/. The Arctic expedition - Pole of Peace and Friendship - will take place on April 16-17 in the Siberian Federal District, a well-known anchorman and scientist Nikolai Drozdov said on Tuesday during a news conference at TASS.

"Our decision is the expedition will be on April 16-17," the outstanding biologist said. "It will be supported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations and by the Expedition Center of the Russian Geographic Society in the Siberian Federal District."

The first Arctic expedition was in April, 2015. This year, it will be the third expedition - it will go across Krasnoyarsk, Khatanga and the North Pole. The purpose is to attract attention to importance of a dialogue between the power, businesses and the society for raising the environmental responsibility, as well as to have actions in support of the Year of Ecology.

This year’s expedition will be one of the celebrations of the scientist’s 55 years in profession. The expedition’s results will be presented on June 10, 2017 at the State Kremlin Palace, where the scientist will have a special meeting with colleagues and the public, devoted to his jubilee.
