KEMEROVO, April 4. /TASS/. Gazprom does not plan to resume gas purchases in Turkmenistan against the backdrop of rising gas production and a surplus in Russia, Deputy Chairman of Gazprom Management Committee Valery Golubev told reporters.
"Russia currently sees surplus of gas production, Gazprom and other extractive companies produce more gas than Russia needs ... Why should we buy foreign gas when we have our own? When consumption grows, we will buy gas, but today we produce our own gas," he said.
