Gazprom forecasts bigger output in 2017 year-on-year

"The output should be bigger than the production last year, as the first quarter was good," Board of Directors Viktor Zubkov said

SOCHI, April 1. /TASS/. Gazprom forecasts output bigger than a year earlier, Chairman of the biggest gas producer's Board of Directors Viktor Zubkov told TASS on Saturday.

"The output should be bigger than the production last year, as the first quarter was good," he said. "This year, Europe also has consumed more gas; thus we hope for bigger sales."

In 2016, Gazprom increased the gas production to 419.07 bcm, export to Europe grew by 12.5% to 179.3 bcm.

In November 2016, Gazprom corrected the production forecast for 2016 to 409.8 bcm - 2% down year-on-year and 9% lower than the earlier forecast.
