MOSCOW, March 17. /TASS/. OPEC Secretary General Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo will attend the OPEC-Russia energy dialogue, expected to be held in June, the organization said in a statement.
According to the statement, Barkindo met Tuesday with Dr. Sun Xiansheng, Secretary General of the Riyadh-based International Energy Forum (IEF) at the OPEC Secretariat in Vienna.
"Mohammad Barkindo extended an invitation to Dr. Sun Xiansheng to attend… the OPEC-Russia energy dialogue, expected to be held in June as a guest of honour," the statement reads.
According to earlier media reports, Barkindo is expected to visit to Russia to take part in the OPEC-Russia energy dialogue, but the date of the event remains to be set. Reports suggested that the meeting may take place in September.
Barkindo earlier told TASS he planned to visit Russia in June and take part in St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
