Gazprom plans to build 663 km of Power of Siberia gas pipeline in 2017

MOSCOW, March 10. /TASS/. Gazprom plans to add 663 km of Power of Siberia gas pipeline this year to 455 km already laid, the Russian gas holding said on Friday.

"We completed construction of approximately 445 km of the pipeline in 2015-2016. About 663 km are expected to be laid in 2017," the company said.

Gazprom’s investments into the Power of Siberia gas pipeline will amount to 158.8 bln rubles ($2.7 ln).

The Power of Siberia gas pipeline will transport gas from Chayandinskoe and Kovykta gas fields in East Siberia to the domestic market and to China [the "Eastern Route" - TASS].

38 bln cubic meters of gas will be transported annually over the Eastern Route during 30 years under the contract signed by Gazprom and CNPC in 2014.

It was reported earlier gas supplies to China may start from May 2019 to May 2021.
