HOUSTON, March 9. /TASS/. OPEC Secretary-General Mohammad Barkindo plans to visit Russia in June and attend the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

"I will come to Moscow first, then to St. Petersburg, to the forum [SPIEF]," Barkindo told TASS on Thursday on the sidelines of CERAweek conference. He will meet Russia’s Energy Minister Alexander Novak during the visit, he added.

The OPEC Secretary-General will then visit Russia once again to participate in OPEC-Russia energy dialogue hosted by Russia this year. The meeting date has not yet been fixed but is tentatively scheduled to September, Barkindo said.

Influence of the current situation on investments into the oil sector is planned to be discussed during the energy dialogue, Russian Minister of Energy Alexander Novak said earlier. The parties also plan to discuss opportunities to raise funds in different taxation systems of developing economies and the impact of enabling technologies on oil demand. The meetings of such format have been held since September 2012.

It was reported earlier the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum will be held on June 1-3, 2017.
