"Up to $2 billion were channeled into the development of Novatek projects," Kholov said in an interview with TASS

MOSCOW, February 20. /TASS/. Qatar has invested up to $2 billion in projects of Russia’s largest independent natural gas producer Novatek, Russian Ambassador to Qatar Nurmakhmad Kholov told TASS on Monday.

"Up to $2 billion were channeled into the development of Novatek projects," Kholov said in an interview with TASS.

Kholov recalled that the investment agency of Qatar earlier participated in the privatization of Russian oil giant Rosneft.

"The latest deal was the largest and most successful over the recent years," the Russian diplomat said.

According to Kholov, Russia and Qatar managed over the past three years to achieve great results in the economy and trade relations due to the work of the joint intergovernmental commission on the trade and economic, and science and technical cooperation.

"Qatar expresses high interest regarding the Russian agricultural products and projects in the sphere of petrochemicals and energy sources, as well as in the sphere of construction," Kholov said.
