Authorities of Moscow Region sign investment contract on Mercedes plant construction

MOSCOW, February 14. /TASS/. Authorities of Moscow Region signed an investment contract on construction of a Mercedes plant, Governor Andrei Vorobyov said on his Instagram.

"Nine counterparts of the investment contract on construction of the Mercedes plant. I have just signed documents on the part of the Moscow Region, sending them to the Russian Ministry of Industry," the governor said in the social network, having posted a photo of folders with the contract.

The contract was also signed by Mercedes and Russian truck maker Kamaz, press service of Deputy Governor of Moscow Region Denis Butsaev told TASS.

The plant will be built in Esipovo Industrial Park, the press service said. The plant to be owned by Daimler is scheduled for commissioning in two years. This is the first contract for construction of an automobile plant by the Western automobile major in the territory of Russia in ten years.
