Final session of Russian-Iranian inter-governmental commission to take place in Tehran

The Russian delegation at the session includes over 200 representatives of ministries and agencies, leading corporations and companies

TEHRAN, December 13. /TASS/. The final session of the permanent Russian-Iranian inter-governmental commission on trade and economic cooperation will be held in Tehran on Tuesday. Co-chairs of the commission, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak and Iranian Minister of Communication Mahmoud Vaezi, will sign a protocol outlining the main spheres of bilateral cooperation and joint priority projects for the nearest future.

The final session was preceded by intensive expert consultations on cooperation in different spheres, including energy, including nuclear energy, oil and gas production, transport, space exploration, machine building, medical industry, financial and banking spheres. The sides also discussed inter-regional cooperation, tourism, environmental protection and many other spheres.

The Russian delegation at the session includes over 200 representatives of ministries and agencies, leading corporations and companies. Among them are representatives of Roscosmos, Rostec, Gazpron, Zarubezhneft, Lukoil, Tatneft, RZD, Russian Helicopters and others. The sides are expected to sign a package of documents on bilateral economic cooperation after the session.

In the second half of the day, Russian-Iranian business forum organized by the Roscongress fund will open at the Olympic Hotel in Tehran. The event will be held with support of the Russian ministries of economic development, industry and trade, energy, as well as the Russian Export Center, Iranian Embassy in Russia, and Iran’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Representatives of Russian and Iranian official and business circles will discuss issues of developing trade & economic and investment cooperation, supporting Russian and Iranian businesses at the state level, strengthening industrial and technical ties between Russia and Iran, cooperation in various spheres.
