Date of meeting with OPEC countries yet to be confirmed

Russia is not planning to participate in a meeting of OPEC as it is not a member of the organization, the Russian Energy Ministry said

MOSCOW, November 29. /TASS/. Date and time of the meeting of OPEC and non-OPEC countries is yet to be confirmed. Russia was not planning to participate in a meeting of OPEC as it is not a member of the organization, representative of the Russian Energy Ministry told TASS on Monday commenting on the Minister of Energy Alexander Novak possibly participating in the cartel’s meeting on November 30.

"We were not supposed to participate in the OPEC meeting because Russia was never a member of the organization. The date and time of the meeting of OPEC and non-OPEC countries is yet to be confirmed," the representative of the Ministry said.

Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said earlier Russia expects the OPEC will manage to agree upon oil production freeze by the formal meeting of the Organization in Vienna on November 30. Chances are high now. Russia will continue its involvement in consultations to reach agreements on concerted market actions, Novak added.
