Russia interested in Germany’s help in economy modernization — Russian deputy PM

In a situation when not all political mechanisms are working smoothly, business formats may help develop ideas that will create a basis for future economic partnership, Dvorkovich said

DUSSELDORF, November 24. /TASS/. Russian is interested in Germany’s assistance in the modernization of its economy, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich said on Thursday.

"We should resume partnership for the sake of modernization first of all, since Russia is lagging behind Germany from the economic point of view and we are interested in modernization of Russia," he said at a Russian-German business forum. "We are confident that there are niches where we can work together, produce new technologies, products and services no one in the world makes which will be in demand by future generations decades after."

The Russia deputy prime minister said the two countries have cooperation potential in such spheres as 4.0 industrial revolution and Internet+. However, in his words, the energy sector is the driving force of technological development. "It is this sector, bearing in mind its scale and resources, that generates cutting-edge technologies, advanced R&D ideas," he stressed.

In a situation when not all political mechanisms are working smoothly, business formats may help develop ideas that will create a basis for future economic partnership across the Bigger Europe, Dvorkovich added.
