LIMA, November 20. /TASS/. Trade-economic and investment cooperation was in the focus at the meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin with President of Vietnam Tran Dai Quang on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said on Sunday.
"Importance of keeping and developing bilateral relations characterized as comprehensive strategic partnership was noted at the meeting," Peskov said. "The leaders noted that over 20 projects with the total value of $10 bln are under development," he said. "Furthermore, a Russia-Vietnam investment platform with investments of $500 mln from each side was established, which will be filled with specific projects," Peskov added.
Development of tourism was also discussed at the meeting, the press secretary said. About 340,000 Russian tourists visited Vietnam last year, Peskov added.
"The leaders addressed the problem of Vietnam’s goods access to the Russian market," Peskov said. Issues of personnel training for civilian spheres and for the defense spheres were also discussed, he added.
