Russian PM hopes to finish privatization of Rosneft by 2016 end

The main deal on the agenda is selling 19.5% in Rosneft

JERICHO, November 11. /TASS/. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev hopes that the deal on privatization of 19.5% in Rosneft will be completed by the end of the year, he told reporters on Friday.

"The main deal on the agenda is selling 19.5% in Rosneft. I hope that before the end of the year it will be carried out, and we will get the revenues that are planned in the budget," Medvedev said.

Medvedev also said that the government is preparing to make a decision on the privatization of Rosneft, and the work conducted at the expert level, by the Economic Development Ministry and the oil company itself.

According to Medvedev, in recent years, the process of privatization of Russian state assets took place rather slowly for a number of reasons. In particular, because there was no need to replenish the budget at the expense of privatization, and now there is. "That is why we have intensified work on privatization. A number of decisions was adopted, this applies to Alrosa, and a controlling stake in Bashneft," Medvedev said.
