Eurasian Economic Union members developing unified strategy to boost export potential

BISHKEK, November 8. /TASS/. Member-countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) are working on a common strategy to strengthen the export potential in the agriculture and food sector, the press service of Kyrgyastan’s Ministry of Economy informed TASS on Tuesday.

"Work is in progress within the EAEU to hammer out a draft program of the Eurasian Economic Commission "On Concerted Action by the Eurasian Economic Union’s member-countries in developing the export potential of agricultural products and foodstuffs," the press service said.

"The document will be aimed at intensifying joint actions while entering third countries’ markets with agriculture and food products," Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Economy said. The action plan envisaged by it will make it possible for the EAEU member-countries "to use the best foreign practices in the organization and operation of export support systems."

"All these steps will help form real agricultural and food marketing systems to develop new markets and devise the concerted policy to develop the export potential of agricultural products and foodstuffs of the union’s member-countries," the ministry noted.

The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is currently made up of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
