Belarus to transfer money to settle overdue payments for Russian gas on October 21

The overdue payment for the supplied Russian natural gas is $281 million

UFA, October 21. /TASS/. Belarus will transfer money to settle the overdue payments for the Russian natural gas, Belarus's Minister of Energy Vladimir Potupchik told reporters on Friday.

"We are making the transfer today," he said.

The minister stressed to TASS it is "not a debt, but a prepayment."

On October 11, he said underpayment of Belarus for the gas supplied from Russia currently amounts to $281 million, adding the countries had signed an appropriate protocol to make decisions on the basis of tradeoff - Belarus will settle the overdue payment for the supplied gas, and Russia will resume in full the oil supplies to Belarus.

"All volumes will be restored today in full," the minister said.
