Russian gas export to non-CIS countries up 16% to 1.1 bln cubic meters

European consumers are actively preparing for winter, according to Alexei Miller

MOSCOW, October 17. /TASS/. According to preliminary data, Russia’s gas export to non-CIS countries surged 16% year-on-year from October 1 to 15 and totaled 1.1 bln cubic meters, Gazprom said on Monday.

"European consumers are actively preparing for winter. Opposite situation is observed in Ukraine. Withdrawal from underground storages in the country started 16 days earlier than in 2015, while gas accumulated in storages is 2.33 bln cubic meters lower than in last year," Chief Executive Officer of Gazprom Alexei Miller said.

In particular, natural gas delivers surged by 25.7% to Germany, 25.6% to Italy, 32.1% to the United Kingdom, 63.5% to Austria, 9.9% to France, 15.4% to Bulgaria, 18.7% to Greece, 83.8% to the Netherlands and 3.3 times to Denmark in the reporting period.
