Russia may start marbled beef deliveries to Turkey by year-end — watchdog

MOSCOW, October 13. /TASS/. Russia may start supplying marbled beef to Turkey by year-end, assistant head of Russian veterinary and phytosanitary regulator Rosselkhoznadzor Alexei Alekseenko told TASS on Thursday.

"We held talks; the Turkish party showed interest in deliveries of Russian marbled meat," Alekseenko said.

No specific agreements are the case in point, he said.

There is an opportunity that the Turkish market will be opened for this kind of foods by the year-end, the official said. "Theoretically it is possible," he added.

Russian needs to agree upon the veterinary certificate for beef supply with Turkey, Alekseenko said. Turkish specialists will then perform qualification testing of Russian companies, he added.
