Russia invited to OPEC meeting in Vienna for oil freeze roadmap discussion

ISTANBUL, October 12. /TASS/. Russia received an invitation to attend a meeting in Vienna on October 29 for development of an oil production freeze roadmap, Energy Minister Alexander Novak said on Wednesday.

"We received the invitation from the OPEC secretariat to participate in the joint meeting on October 29 for development of a roadmap on [production optimization] mechanism within the framework of our countries," the minister said.

The informal meeting of ministers from certain OPEC and non-OPEC nations was scheduled on sidelines of the World Energy Congress, Novak noted: 

"We agreed to meet here in Istanbul after [the meeting in] Algeria, discuss the current situation and the market status, as well as interaction mechanisms between OPEC and non-OPEC countries to develop the roadmap and hold technical consultations at the expert level of our specialists."
