ISTANBUL, October 10. /TASS/. BP has no objections to Rosneft’s plan to purchase a stake in Bashneft, the British company’s chief executive Robert Dudley said on the sidelines of the International Energy Congress on Monday.
"As a shareholder we have no issues, no problem with that. We have no objections," he said when asked about the company’s view on potential purchase of Bashneft by Russia's top oil producer.
On October 6, Russia’s government requested government representatives in Rosneft board of directors to approve the acquisition of 50.07655% of shares in Bashneft for the sum not higher than 330 bln rubles ($5.2 bln), according to the decree signed by First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov. The purchase agreement should be signed until October 15, the decree said.
BP holds a 19.75% stake in Rosneft.
