Russia’s Olympic ski resort to sell package tours to Germans

The first German tourists may come to Rosa Khutor this January

MOSCOW, October 6. /TASS/. Rosa Khutor, the popular Russian ski resort which hosted the 2014 Sochi Olympics, is entering the international market and has launched the sale of package tours to German holidaymakers, its marketing director said on Thursday.

"We have a dynamic resort and are receiving more and more guests but 95% of our visitors are Russians. Foreigners account for only 5% or 40,000 guests," Olga Filipenkova said.

"We are planning to increase this share and sell tour packages. Germany is the first country to fit the bill," she said.

The first German tourists may come to Rosa Khutor in January as weekly Sunday round-trip flights from Berlin to Sochi will be launched on January 15.

Sergey Korneyev, the Deputy Head of the Federal Tourism Agency, said German tourists are interested in traveling to Russia and the new program will help promote the country on the international market.
