Russian PM assures financing for agribusiness will remain at current level

MOSCOW, October 5. /TASS/. The Russian government plans to keep the volume of budget financing of agribusiness at the current level, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said on Wednesday.

"We will continue to do everything that requires of the state to provide adequate resources. Next year we have planned, despite a tense budgetary situation, to keep the volume of budgetary financing of agriculture at the level of the current year, despite the fact that all the other positions, except protected ones, will be reduced by a certain percentage. Financing of agriculture remains the same," Medvedev said.

Around 112 mln tonnes of grain have already been harvested in Russia, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said, adding that a record of 115 mln tonnes is expected this year:

"Already now, as of October 4, around 112 mln tonnes of grain have been harvested while the plan is to harvest around 115 mln tonnes (by the end of this season), which is a 25-year record and an absolute record in the history of Russia’s agriculture."
