ASTANA, October 4. /TASS/. Intensification of work on the Russian segment of West Europe - West China highway will "make possible to significantly increase freight transportation all over the corridor," President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev said on Tuesday.

"We have actually completed construction of Kazakhstan segment of West Europe - West China road. This 2,700 km long highway approached the Russian border in the area of Aktyubinsk [West Kazakhstan - TASS]. I believe intensification of work by Russia on this road segment will make possible to significantly increase freight transportation all over the corridor," Nazarbaev said.

China "has already completed its portion of work to the Pacific Ocean," the President of Kazakhstan added.
