TYUMEN, September 21. /TASS/. Russia’s oil giant Lukoil plans to start oil production at the Filanovsky field in the Caspian Sea by the end of September, the company’s Senior Vice President for Oil and Gas Production Azat Shamsuarov said on Wednesday.
"We are completing the first round of equipping the Filanovsky field. Yesterday we launched a second oil well," Shamsuarov said. The capacity of the oil wells is 3,000 tonnes and 1,200 tonnes per day, respectively.
"We hope to join the (Transneft transportation) system by the end of September," he said.
The date of launching production at the field has been postponed many times. Lukoil CEO Vagit Alekperov said earlier the field would be ready for the launch in August 2016.
Filanovsky field was discovered in 2005. Recoverable resources of oil and natural gas amount to 153.1 mln tonnes and 32.2 bln cubic meters respectively. Lukoil plans to invest 882 billion rubles ($13.6 billion) in its development in 2016-2045.
