MOSCOW, August 19. /TASS/. The free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Vietnam will come into force on October 5, Trade Minister of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Veronika Nikishina said on Friday.
"We are happy to say all ratification procedures are completed and the free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and Vietnam will come into force on October 5. Lower rates of customs duties will apply to the greater portion of goods countries are trading from October 5," Nikishina said.
Vietnam will open the market for many goods of export interest for the EAEU member-states, the EEC said earlier. In particular, these are agricultural products, animal feed, mechanical and engineering equipment.
The EAEU signed the free trade zone agreement with Vietnam in May 2015.
