Ford to recall over 3,000 cars in Russia due to lamp problems — regulator

MOSCOW, August 17. /TASS/. OOO Ford Sollers Holding (Ford’s Russian dealer) will recall over 3,000 Mondeo automobiles due to the risk of improper operation of lamps, Russia’s Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology (Rosstandart) said on Wednesday.

2,300 Ford Mondeo cars fitted with adaptive LED-based lamps produced from July 1 to December 11, 2014 and 772 automobiles with automatic light control and automatic windshield wipers made from September 24 to December 11, 2015 are subject to recall.

The reason to recall the first group of cars is probability of a situation when "lack of control signal combined with software error may lead to lamps switching-off." The recall in the second case is conditioned by risk of lamps switching-off when working automatically in consequence of wrong determination of the "tunnel regime," Rosstandart said.

Repair work will comprise software upgrade for required modules. All the repair work will be free of charge for owners.
