Honda recalls nearly 55,600 cars in Russia due to safety airbag problems

Airbag gas generators will be replaced in all recalled vehicles

MOSCOW, August 15. /TASS/. OOO Honda Motor Rus (Honda’s Russian dealer) will recall almost 55,600 CR-V, Accord and Jazz automobiles due to wrong assembly of airbags, Russia’s Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology (Rosstandart) said on Monday.

38,850 Honda Accord and 11,150 Honda Jazz cars produced from October 2005 to December 2008 and 5,580 Honda CR-V automobiles made from December 2005 to October 2006 are subject to recall.

"The airbag may be actuated in an unwanted fashion in consequence of an error in production process," Rosstandart said.

Airbag gas generators will be replaced in all recalled vehicles. All the repair work will be free of charge for owners.
