MOSCOW, August 1. /TASS/. Russia and China are examining an option of signing an interdepartmental agreement on Erkovetskaya coal-fired thermal power plant (TPP) construction project, Russian Ministry of Energy said on Monday.
"The parties will provide assistance to the State Grid Corporation of China (SGC) and Inter RAO in developing cooperation on the comprehensive construction project of Erkovetskaya coal-fired thermal power plant and agreed to consider measures of government support and the opportunity of signing the interdepartmental agreement," the Ministry said.
Russia’s Inter RAO and SGC are currently discussing the opportunity for joint implementation of the thermal power plant construction project. The coal-fired power plant is intended to be built in the vicinity of Erkovetskoe brown coal deposit in the Amur region.
