Russian arms exporter buys out six-seat box at Bolshoi for foreign partners and diplomats

Rosoboronexport paid 203 319.6 dollars for purchasing a seasonal ticket to a six-seat parterre box in the main historical building for the next theatrical season, the website of state purchases said

MOSCOW, July 25 /TASS/. The Russian arms trading firm Rosoboronexport (affiliated in the Rostec state corporation) has paid millions of rubles to buy a six-seat ground-floor box (begnoire) at the Bolshoi Theatre for foreign delegations and diplomats for the next theatrical season, a source at the company’s press service told TASS.

Rosoboronexport paid 13.2 million rubles (203 319.6 dollars) to the Bolshoi for purchasing a seasonal ticket to a six-seat parterre box in the main historical building for the next theatrical season, the website of state purchases reported earlier.

"With an aim to ensure a high quality of organization of cultural programs for foreign delegations who come to Russia and members of the foreign diplomatic coprs in Moscow, Rosoboronexport is planning to lease a begnoire at the Bolshoi Theatre’s main [historical] stage," the report said.

The company also said that Rosoboronexport had received more than 5,000 foreign delegations from foreign countries and CIS states between 2000 and 2015.
