KAZAN, July 12. /TASS/. Italy’s Saipem S.p.A. shows interest in construction of Ammonia-2 plant for production of mineral fertilizers and nitrogen compounds in Tatarstan, press service of the head of the region told TASS on Tuesday.
"The management of Saipem expressed interest in participation in the Ammonia-2 project," the press service said. Head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Saipem regional director for CIS and Baltic Gianluca Aliotta discussed implementation of project on Tuesday.
Saipem acted as a licensor of carbamide synthesis technologies within the framework of Ammonia-1 plant construction. The unit was successfully designed, built and put into service in the third quarter of 2015.
Ammonia plant was formally put into service on February 12, 2016. The plant capacity makes possible to annually produce up to 483,700 tonnes of ammonia, 233,800 tonnes of methanol and 717,500 tonnes of carbamide.
