Russian customs ready to open for Turkish products in 2 days — official

Russia's regulator says the access will be opened within two days after it recieves a relevant document

MOSCOW, June 30. /TASS/. Russia’s Federal Customs Service is ready to open access for Turkish products to the Russian market within 1-2 days after it receives the relevant government resolution, Service Deputy Head Ruslan Davydov told TASS on Thursday.

"If we receive the relevant resolution in an established procedure, we’ll make changes to our documents within the shortest time possible, actually within 1-2 days. We’ll give instructions to the customs bodies," he said.

"We have a long-established procedure of both imposing restrictions on certain types of goods and certain countries of their origin and their lifting. For us, this situation is of organizational and technical nature," the customs deputy chief said.

In case of opening the borders for Turkish imports earlier hit by Russia’s sanctions, the Federal Customs Service will be able to promptly transmit corresponding instructions to the customs bodies, adjust the risk management system and organize interaction with the relevant controlling bodies, first of all, with the agricultural watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor, he said.
