ST. PETERSBURG, June 28. /TASS/. Russia will supply several million tonnes of coal to Ukraine this year, Energy Minister Alexander Novak said Tuesday.
"We continue selling coal to Ukraine, last year saw certain volumes sold, this year obviously several million tonnes (will be sold - TASS) for the whole year," he said, adding that the rumors that coal purchases has been suspended are not true.
As was reported earlier in December 2015, Russian President Vladimir Putin bound the government to resume coal supplies to Ukraine after Kiev had resumed electricity supplies to Crimea. On December 10, 2015 exports of coking coals to Ukraine were resumed. Coal supplies to Ukraine from Russia and Donbass territories not controlled by Kiev were suspended in November, 2014.
