Egypt’s airport operator says all Russia’s security requirements met

The Egyptian side has installed modern luggage check systems and modernized indoors and outdoors surveillance cameras

CAIRO, June 20. /TASS/. Egypt has fulfilled all Russia’s requirements concerning airport security and the country’s ministry of civil aviation is expecting Russian inspectors, Ismail Abu al-Izz, the CEO of the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation, said on Monday.

He said the Egyptian side has fulfilled all the requirements set by Russia. Thus, in his words, it has installed modern luggage check systems and modernized indoors and outdoors surveillance cameras to a sum of 417 million Egyptian punds (more than $46 million).

"In Cairo and Sharm el-Sheikh airports, works are underway to mount special technical devices of radar surveillance covering an area of up to three kilometers which make it possible to follow moving objects and expose explosives and drugs," he said.
