Russian Agriculture Ministry to allocate $3.1 mln to support biotechnologies

BARNAUL, June 10. /TASS/. Russian government’s support of biotechnologies development in agriculture will amount to 200 mln rubles ($3.1 mln) in 2016, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Elena Astrakhantseva said on Friday.

"200 mln rubles ($3.1 mln) are provides for implementation of innovative projects in the agricultural sector," the official said. The Ministry of Agriculture considers necessary to increase this amount and is examining this issue, she added.

"If our proposals are approved by the Finance Ministry, the amount will be definitely higher in next years," Astrakhantseva said. The tender for provision of support will be formally presented approximately by the end of July, she added.
